Get more Free Traffic by joining Blogcave!

By Part Time Blogger On December 1, 2007 Under Free Traffic Generation

Hi Bloggers, I am always looking for ways to generate free traffic to the blog. Even if it only generates afew new readers.

I have recently joined Blogcave, Blogcave is an online social networking community for bloggers. Its work like this when you join you get a Profile page which other members can view and if they like your blog they can vote for it. Im up to 17 votes at the time of writing this. Members can also leave messages for you.

Here are just afew of the kind messages i’ve  received so far about my blog.

Great blog – it s always good to hear about someone starting out and see their path towards success. More of us are at that point rather than the 6 figure profit range, so it s easy to relate to – that gets a vote! Thanks for the nice blog. Chip Boaz

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa has voted for you , number 16. Please vote for me too and have a wonderful day :-)

I am a blogcave member. The hits it generates are not good quality IMO. It’s pretty much monopolied by about 5 bloggers who run link farms (Santa is one of them). They come in, give you a vote, and ask for one in return so they can remain in the top 100.
But when you go to their blogs to see what they are about, there is very little-to-no content. It’s just a bunch of “SO-and-so gave me this link award…blah blah”
The other problem is that 99% of the members are already on MyBLogLog so you are not really getting any exposure you couldn’t already have.

In reply to Allyn Paul’s comments about there being little to no content on my blog I would like to point out a couple of things. Firstly my blog is one of many that is primarily about Christmas. yes, there are some posts thanking other bloggers for received awards and in my thinking is it was always polite to thank others for something received even when it makes boring reading. I would wonder how many posts our friend read too as there are over 400 and growing on that one blog alone and even a hard critic would find it hard to say that they are all about awards blah blah blah.

As far as it being a link farm maybe you should see what Technorati think about that. A failed experiment from the past where many tried to help each other but then again a sceptic can always see the bad in anything no matter the reasons for things being done the way they are. Yes.. I do have co-authors and value their input greatly. It’s called sharing and caring in case the concept isn’t understood.

As far as the perception that I have a monopoly on Blog Cave I would like to point out 2 more things. I like everyone else joined and started with no votes and at that time certainly had no monopoly and still don’t. Secondly in your own words I vote first with no guarantee that anyone will return a vote or even visit my site. It’s what is called “giving”. A unique concept for some and easy for others. Afterall, it’s what Santa does.
