Hi bloggers, since I started the blog 6 weeks ago, my main aim for 2007 as been to generate traffic to the site. I am going to concentrate on making money and monetizing the blog next year. I’ve too much to learn on SEO, Affiliate Marketing and Internet Marketing yet.
Traffic to the blog is growing nicely, as you can see from the Alexa Graph. Plus you need quite abit of traffic before you can even start to think about monetizing your blog and making money from it. Any advertising I do this year on the Blog will be Free.
All the traffic so far is coming from blog directories like mybloglog & blogcatalog. Forum posting and Entrecard. I am very impressed with entrecard so far.
I joined StumbleUpon at the same time I started the blog, but the traffic generated so far from it is pathetic. This is probably due to me not knowing much about StumbleUpon and not using any methods to generate traffic.
During a visit to Caroline Middlebrook’s blog this morning I was amazed to find that a whopping 12,295 visits, 27.4% of her traffic was generated by StumbleUpon for the month of November 07. This prompted me to do a google search for ‘How to increase traffic using Stumbleupon’ here are just afew of the blog posts I read on the subject.

Hopefully once I implement these methods by blog traffic will grow some more.

I just found your blog… Its got a bunch of good info I’m now using–thanks!
I’d never heard of entrecard before..
Also I’ve found stumbleupon works well in short amounts of time with really good posts…
I’m going to check back often, hopefully you’ve got more good info for us!

My site also gets traffic from Stumbleupon and digg, but all the stats for Stumbleupon traffic are the worst as compared all other traffic sources. My Stumbleupon traffic has the lowest Pages/Visit, lowest Avg. Time on Site and highest Bounce Rate.
for e.g. Here’s comparision of my Stumbleupon traffic to Digg traffic :
Pages/Visit : Digg : 1:33 stumbleupon : 1:06
Avg. Time on Site : Digg : 00:01:44 stumbleupon : 00:00:18 (18 secs only)
Bounce Rate : Digg : 86.64% stumbleupon : 93.55%
Also, i am surprised to see no social bookmarking buttons on Caroline Middlebrook’s blog. Else, she would have got lot more traffic from Digg and others.
