Hi Bloggers, I mentioned earlier on in the year about me writing about my passions. Mixed Martial Arts and the UFC particularly I am very passionate about, so I am now going to write about every UFC event and let you know my fight predictions. It UFC 82 on Saturday so here’s how I think the fights will pan out.
UFC 82 Pride of a Champion
Main Event UFC Middleweight title fight
Anderson Silva v’s Dan Henderson
I can see this fight going only one way, with Silva being victorious. Not sure now he will win though, the spider’s striking is excellent it was shown now good he is by the way he dominated franklin in both there title fights. Henderson has probably got the best chin in the game though, and he will definitely need it with the way silva hits with such pinpoint accuracy. Henderson is no mug in the standup game though and he proved this by defeating vanderlia silva one of the world’s most dangerous strikers via ko , to win the pride light heavyweight belt. Silva’s ground game is excellent but we haven’t seen that much of it in his UFC fights because of the way he has dominated these fights standing up.
My prediction Silva to win via 3rd Ko or 2nd round submission
Heath Herring v’s Cheick Kongo
I’m not looking forward to this match up one little bit. This fight has got unanimous decision winner written all over it with Kongo being the winner.
Kongo is a fantastic athlete and his kickboxing skills are world class, but I think he will grind out the win like he did against UFC flop Mirko Cro Cop. Heath Herring is capable of the upset though and proved in his fight against current UFC heavyweight champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogeria that he can bang. How he let him off in that fight we will never know.
My Prediction Kongo Win unanimous decision
Alessio Sakara v’s Chris Leben
Looking forward to this one, two exciting standup fighters so i’m expecting a war. This is Sakara’s first fight at middleweight with him previously fighting at 205 lbs, so we don’t know what to expect will he come in weaker or stronger. We will have to wait and see, leben is a decent fighter and always come’s for a fight. This is another one thats hard to judge, sakara has an excellent standup game due to his excellent boxing skills but Leben has shown in the past he has a excellent chin.
My prediction Sakara via 3rd Knockout
Yushin Okami v’s Evan Tanner
This is former middleweight champ Tanner’s first fight in nearly 2 years, will this long period away from the game being a deciding factor in this fight, I think so. Okami is a huge middleweight and very strong to go with it. I reckon this one will be a close one though with the fight going to the Judges
My predicton Okami win Split decision
Chris Wilson v’s Jon Fitch
Never seen Wilson fight, but I seen Fitch’s recent destruction of Diego Sanchez and I must say I was mightily impressed.
My prediction Jon Fitch Win via Ko
Jake O Brien v’s Andrei Arlovski
Another fighter in O Brien I have never seen fight he 10 and 0 though, so he might be a dark horse in this fight. Arlovski as wavered in recents years but we may see the return of the old pitbull in this one.
My prediction Arlovski Win 1st rd KO
Luigi Fioravanti Vs. Luke Cummo
My prediction Cummo 3rd round Submission
Dustin Hazelett Vs. Josh Koscheck
My prediction Win Koscheck Judge’s decision
David Bielkheden v’s Diego Sanchez
Sanchez is coming into this fight with two losses on his record and will want to put on a show for the fans.
My prediction Win Sanchez via 1st round Submission
John Halverson Vs. Jorge Gurgel
My prediction Win Halverson via 2nd rd Ko
That’s my predictions for the entire fight card, hope you enjoy the show on Saturday I will have to watch it on Sunday via Bravo though.
Happy Blogging
