Hi Bloggers the topic of today’s post is this ’Why pay for a Blog Makeover’. Having though about paying for one myself I have noticed quite a few of the more well known Blogger’s are getting there Blog’s madeover for nothing. Tyler Cruz and Caroline Middlebrook to name just a few.
The first thing I did when I started the Blog in October was to spend a couple of hours looking for a good FREE Wordpress Template. I’m on my second one now and fairly happy with the crisp clean design, and have decided I’m going to stick with this one, well until some hotshot designer offers me a Freebie.
To be honest I know this is not going to happen for a very very long time, your Blog needs to be at a certain standard and have well over 500 Rss readers, and I’m crying saying this PartTimeBlogger.com isn’t that. At first I did contemplate buying a Blog makeover hoping that it will increase my readers, a nice blog design is all well and good. But you need the content to go with it and I’m the first to admit it I’m not there yet. If you look around the Blogosphere most of the top Bloggers have what you call Blog designs that are not easy on the eye. To be brute their plain darn ugly, but this didn’t stop these guys getting to the top. The only Blog design I can think of that made the blog what it is today is Johncow.com the content is good but it screamed out come back for more, I’m pretty. I really like the design and when the template came on sale a couple of weeks ago I nearly made the purchase. But decided against it because I didn’t think it would make any difference to my blog.Yeah it may of looked prettier but traffic wise I don’t think I would of seen an increase.
Why get a Blog Makeover?
My advice to all Newbie Blogger’s out there DO NOT PAY FOR A BLOG MAKEOVER. You may be asking why not, well if your prepared to pay for a blog makeover you must rate yourself as a blogger, and see it as an investment which will pay you back 100 times once you hit the big time. Don’t be a fool if your good and your content is good you will get to the big time without an expensive Blog Makeover, and once at the top Blog designer’s will be knocking at your inbox door desperate to makeover your Blog to get that footer link that will make them much more than if you payed them $500 for the Blog Design.
Another reason a Newbie Blogger should never pay for a Blog Makeover is this, Blogging is a Part Time game to most of us and eats into quite abit of our time. This is why most Blogger’s give in after 3 months of blogging they either have writer’s block or find out the time there using can be used on more worthwhile projects or down in the pub. I have even thought to myself, is this worth it. You only get get one shot at life, don’t waste it Blogging earning no money or at best very little money. But my biggest mistake is not the time spent blogging it was the time wasting. I’ve eliminated most of that and I’m starting to make progress with my Niche Sites and Affilaite Marketing.
So my advice to all you Newbie and Part Time Blogger’s is to keep your hand in your pocket and concentrate on writing good content. There are hundreds of fantastic FREE designs out there just find one that suits you and stick with it till your offered a FREEBIE or you Quit. Sorry if the word Quit is harsh but I’m afraid most of us will.
Happy Blogging and Good luck to all of you!
